lyrics
All the wisdom of stars
All the sacred words rejected
And now I see I'm infected
And so is my soul
With my last heartbeat
I only can believe that
There's no salvation here
And no forgiveness after all
There's only loneliness and pain
A sacrifice
A holy pain
Over a hundred thousand souls
In the sands of this island
At what price will they be reborn
As I would give all what's left in me
Among the skeletons of buildings
I recall the glory he gave me
But now in awe I dwell
On the time when I will live again
When the pestilence and swarm comes back
I will be reborn and the birds shall give their signs
My eternal home left alone
Just to pass with time
Over a hundred thousand souls
In the sands of this island
At what price will they be reborn
As I would give all what's left in me
Over a hundred thousand souls
In the sands of this island
Shall scream as the sun rises even higher
And the stars will begin to fall

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
This whole album is flawless. This is music for walking in the rain and letting your thoughts run. It's not just a collection of songs, but an actual album. yakbone
After listening to Ysyry Mollvün, listening to Downfall of Nur was urgent and turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made in quite some time: Umbras de Barbagia is simply magisterial; the atmosphere can hardly be compared to anything else. There is a deep, palpable connection to nature imbueing each very fibre of this record. The amalgamation of black metal and folk elements is done with a high intuition for detail and class, resulting in a highly immersive experience. Wonderful. David Fischer
With their deviant kind of Black Metal, White Ward are far away from mediocre. If you’re looking for something different and sophisticated try these guys! You won‘t be disappointed! Sælzer Bub
