lyrics
Thou shall fear the people who live under the mark of the bird
I was scattered among the shadows of men
Crawled deep in the tunnels of burden
Then I met the great one in the purge
Who gave me the mask to set us free and erase my shame
Ask yourselves who does not want a new beginning
You deserve to dwell kneeling
Scattered among the shadows of men
I denied the ways of gods
For I shall not fear the one who lives
Under the mark of the bird
With blackened death I shall come
As I am one of them

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74

Mikolaj is a real multi-talent in bass as well as guitar as well as vocals and "Darkside" Maciej's drumming is a well-calibrated 100th-of-seconds-clockwork. Not for nothing is Mgla considered as a standard for a lot of other blacker-than-black metal bands. I hope to see this band live once..... grote_smurf

After listening to Ysyry Mollvün, listening to Downfall of Nur was urgent and turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made in quite some time: Umbras de Barbagia is simply magisterial; the atmosphere can hardly be compared to anything else. There is a deep, palpable connection to nature imbueing each very fibre of this record. The amalgamation of black metal and folk elements is done with a high intuition for detail and class, resulting in a highly immersive experience. Wonderful. David Fischer

With their deviant kind of Black Metal, White Ward are far away from mediocre. If you’re looking for something different and sophisticated try these guys! You won‘t be disappointed! Sælzer Bub
